Miller Flat Reservoir - Fairview, Utah

Lake Information

Fish Species: Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout
Miller Flat Reservoir, located above Fairview in the Manti-La Sal National Forest, offers tranquil, high-elevation trout fishing from late spring to early fall. At over 8,000 feet, the 65-acre reservoir supports populations of rainbow, brook, and occasionally cutthroat trout.

Stocked annually with rainbows by the Utah DWR, the reservoir also hosts wild brook trout in feeder streams. Anglers catch fish in the 10–14 inch range using bait, spinners, and flies. Woolly buggers, chironomids, and terrestrials are top fly choices during summer.

Miller Flat is ideal for float tubes and kayaks, though no boat ramp exists. Primitive shoreline camping is available nearby. Weather can be unpredictable at this altitude, so anglers should plan accordingly. Access roads often remain snow-covered until late May or early June.

There are no special regulations—standard Utah fishing rules apply. With its quiet setting and dependable action, Miller Flat is a great option for those seeking solitude and alpine angling.
