Sand Hollow Reservoir - Hurricane, Utah

Lake Information

Fish Species: Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Black Crappie, Bluegill, Green Sunfish, Black Bullhead
Sand Hollow Reservoir near Hurricane, UT, is one of Utah’s premier warmwater fisheries, renowned for trophy largemouth bass and vibrant desert scenery. The 1,300-acre reservoir also offers quality bluegill fishing and seasonal crappie and trout opportunities.

Bass anglers regularly land fish over 5 pounds, particularly in spring and fall. The spawn brings bass into shallow water, where they strike soft plastics, jigs, and topwater lures aggressively. Bluegill provide consistent action for kids and beginners near shoreline vegetation using worms or small jigs.

Crappie are less abundant but catchable in spring near submerged brush. Trout are stocked in fall and winter and bite well on bait and lures before warming water pushes them deeper or ends the season.

Sand Hollow features excellent amenities including a paved boat ramp, campground, and rental facilities. Clear water and abundant aquatic cover make it an ideal environment for boaters, kayakers, and even fly anglers.

Regulations allow six bass daily, with only one over 12 inches. Check current rules in the Utah Fishing Guidebook.

With exceptional bass fishing, family-friendly facilities, and year-round access, Sand Hollow remains one of the top warmwater destinations in Utah.
