The stable water levels offered some hope for an otherwise tough bite

Kaweah dropped to 8% of its storage capacity, which is about as low as it typically gets during the summer. The stable water levels offered some hope for an otherwise tough bite. Bass were holding on main lake points and around submerged rock piles, with small jigs, drop shot, and Ned rigs in brown, light purple, and bluegill drawing strikes. Topwater lures and crankbaits produced in the mornings and evenings. Crappie fed on live minnows and minijigs, and catfish were taken on cut sardines and dip bait.
