Naci fell to 42% of its storage capacity, and water temperatures hovered near 80 degrees. Fishing was good, with bass, white bass, and crappie all taking baits. Spotted bass hit topwater plugs in the mornings and evenings, with walking baits and poppers fooling fish, while darter-head grubs and drop-shot rigs worked well midday. Natural shad, Aaron’s Magic, and MMIII all produced bass. White bass fell for topwater baits and white spoons during the occasional boils, while crappie ate small live minnows and mini jigs in 10 to 20 feet of water, with main and secondary points being productive. Catfish anglers found success using cut mackerel, sardines, and dip bait to land plenty of whisker fish.
