Castaic remained near 80 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures were in the low sixties. Bass anglers reported plenty of 30 to 50 fish days with most of the bass in the 1-to-2-pound range. Bass took baits from 2 to 20 feet deep and from main lake points to the backs of coves. Drop shot, C-rigs, and Senko style baits in green, brown, and salt/pepper were great for numbers. Bigger bass seemed to favor the Slim Pros and Keitechs. Reaction baits took fish as well. Catfish and striped bass reports were slow, as most anglers took advantage of the excellent bass fishing.
