Here at the Upper Kern trout have been found regularly throughout the 20-mile stretch. The easy access points along the stretch have been best. Our sources reported fooling trout with salmon eggs, crickets and trout jigs. Fly anglers have found some fish with nymphs, stripping streamers and dry flies later in the day. This week the Upper Kern was stocked by CDFW in sections 4 and 5. In the Lower Kern, the CDFW stocked trout in all three sections this week; Section 1, Lower Richbar to Democrat Beach; Section 2, Democrat Beach to Sandy Flat; and Section 3, Sandy Flat to Isabella Dam. Trout anglers have done well with salmon eggs, small spinners and minijigs. The Spring bass bite is going strong in the Lower Kern with jigs, worms, and small crankbaits. Catfish can be found with sardines and Triple S Dip Bait. At the time of reporting, the Upper Kern River is flowing at 1325 CFS and the Lower Kern River is flowing at 414 CFS.

Lake Kaweah: The lake rose over 12 feet to 47 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing has been fair to good
