Pyramid Lake held near 90% of its storage capacity, and bass fishing was productive, with both largemouth and smallmouth bass found in 2 to 15 feet of water. Drop shot, Texas rigs, and Ned rigs produced solid numbers, while Keitechs and jerkbaits attracted better-quality fish. Trout anglers reported catching large rainbow trout near the marina using dough baits. Striped bass were biting on cut sardines and anchovies at the inlet, mostly in the 1- to 2-pound range, though larger specimens were landed by those trolling umbrella rigs and deep-diving jerkbaits around main lake points. Catfish were eager for chicken liver and garlic-scented nightcrawlers.
