Access to the headwaters is open, and early-season conditions are shaping up well. Reports have come in on good mixed-bag days with both nymphs and streamers. Perdigons and small tungsten jig nymphs have been effective on whitefish, rainbows, and brookies. Streamer fishing along the banks and wood structure has yielded solid results on sculpin-style flies.
Caddis, midges, and a few PMDs are out. While Green Drakes haven’t made an appearance yet, it’s worth being prepared—they should show up in the next couple of weeks.
