Crystal-clear surface temps remain in the mid‑50s°F this week, warming slightly in calm bays early and late day. The Mackinaw (lake trout) bite is strong around 60–90 ft—use tube jigs or dodger-minnow rigs for 10–15 lb fish. Kokanee begin schooling deeper in July; try bright spoons and hoochies at 80–100 ft. Rainbows and browns are moving shallower near creek mouths, feeding on midges and BWOs—nymph under an indicator then switch to dries at dawn and dusk. Shore anglers score near Sand Harbor and Cave Rock using nightcrawlers, PowerBait, spoons, or spinners. Tip: launch early this holiday weekend for the best success, dress in layers, and track bug activity to time your tactics.
