Lake Davis is showing classic midsummer conditions, with surface temperatures around 75°F and trout holding much deeper in the water column, typically 20–30 feet down. The best action is coming from the stretch between Honker Island and the dam, where both boaters and bank anglers can reach the main channel. Those fishing from shore should focus on areas where they can cast directly into deeper water. Inflated nightcrawlers, PowerBait, and Mice Tails continue to be the most productive offerings, while trollers are finding success running flashers tipped with crawlers or Baby Simons through the channel. The key is to get down into the cooler layers where the fish are holding.
