Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
The Fall continues to fish really well and in its classic late spring groove. PMDs are becoming the main hatch focus during the afternoons while midges remain a constant part of the daily mix. Evening caddis activity continues to improve with the warmer weather moving in this weekend.
Fish are definitely looking up during calmer afternoons and evenings, but subsurface presentations are still producing the most consistent action overall. Zebra Midges, Perdigons, 2-Bits, Pheasant Tails, olive mayfly patterns, and balanced leeches are all producing fish consistently.
Streamer fishing has also remained productive for anglers looking to move larger holdover fish around weed lines and structure. The warmer holiday forecast should continue pushing bug activity and improving dry fly opportunities over the next week.
Recommended Dries:
PMD Sparkle Dun #16-18, CDC PMD Emerger #16-18, Elk Hair Caddis #14-18, Purple Haze #16-20
Recommended Nymphs:
Zebra Midges #18-20, Perdigons #16-18, 2-Bits #16-18, Olive Mayfly Patterns #16-18, Balanced Leeches
