The Metolius continues to fish really well with excellent water clarity, stable flows, and some of the best bug activity so far this season.

Nymphing remains the most consistent approach throughout the day. Golden stone nymphs, perdigons, jigged mayfly patterns, hare's ears, caddis pupa, and smaller attractor nymphs are all producing. Dry fly opportunities continue to improve with PMDs, caddis, and increasing Green Drake activity are creating longer feeding windows throughout the day, with better surface action occurring during the afternoon and evening hours.

Anglers chasing Bull trout are targeting deeper structure with larger streamers and sculpin patterns. Covering water and focusing on depth changes, log structure, and current transitions continue to be the most productive strategy.
