Pyramid Lake fishing was centered around striped bass and large and smallmouth last week. Striped bass provided good fishing for those who found biting schools, with anglers locating fish around Yellowbar, the dam, and the marina. Cut sardines and live worms continued to produce for bait anglers, while surface activity during the early morning hours gave anglers chances on various topwater plugs, spoons, jerkbaits, and soft jerkbaits. Bass anglers continued to work points, rocky structure, and bluff walls with finesse plastics, jerkbaits, and other reaction baits. Catfishing was good for anglers using chicken liver and cut sardines. Water temperatures remained in the mid-seventies.
