Last week, we received reports that the ice was anywhere from two to five inches thick. The ice conditions are questionable in the morning and are definitely hazardous by afternoon. There may also be patches of open water. Seeley Creek Bay should be avoided because of warm springs under the ice. Exercise extreme caution and observe ice fishing safety precautions. If the ice thickens and solidifies, try using white tube jigs, paddle bugs or silver Kastmasters tipped with chub meat.
