Fishing was fair to good in the aqueduct last week with some anglers landing limits and others striking out. Bait rigs remained the most producer with cut mackerel, sardines, and anchovies all fooling striped bass. The best place to fish them has been before and after check gates. Some anglers reported success along inside bends and near outtake grates. The bass bite was better last week with topwater action picking up. Poppers and walking baits fooled fish on long casts to the opposite side of the aqueduct. Drop shot grubs also got bites. Catfishing was reliable for anglers using fresh shrimp, chicken liver, and dip bait.
