Hart Park Lake became one of our local hot spots last week after anglers started targeting spawning bass. The bite is not quite wide open yet, but it’s nice to see anglers hauling in bass after a long winter. Please remember to let spawning largemouth raise the next generation of bass by releasing them back into the lake. Senkos, jigs, and creature baits were the baits of choice, but green pumpkin or brown six-inch plastic worms also did the trick on the Texas rig. Catfish anglers soaked dip bait and cut sardines for some biters, and bluegill ate redworms under a bobber.
