The lake level has risen significantly with recent storms and was spilling over the spillway on 3/22/2023. Road access to the lake is open and boat launches are in the water. Access to the Narrows is closed for the winter season. Local campgrounds (Canyon Vista, Lakeview, and Pine Grove) are closed for the winter. The lake may be partially ice covered this week, but the ice is thin and not safe to ice fish from. Daily fluctuations of runoff are pulsing into the lake. Newman Canyon peaked at 1,730 cubic feet per second (cfs) on 3/21/2023 and has since
dropped to 593 cfs on 3/22/2023. This is a good time of year to target the inflows to the lake as the running water will attract the various fish species to spawn and feed in the running water
