Naci held near 55 percent of its storage capacity and water temperatures have been falling. Anglers reported changing conditions requiring different tactics than just a couple of weeks ago. Reaction baits still took bass, but the topwater and jerkbait bite has slowed. Cranks and underspins took some fish, but finesse techniques were the most reliable. Drop shot, Neko rigs, and spider jigs fooled bass from 5 to 35 feet deep. Dark green, shades of purple, and brown got bites. White bass anglers found schools holding near bait balls in 15 to 30 feet of water. Vertical spoons and small white swimbaits on a ball head jig took fish. Crappie reports were decent with anglers catching fish a bit deeper than in weeks past. Minijigs and small live minnows got it done. Catfish ate dip bait and chicken liver in deeper coves.
