This week Isabella Lake increased to 47 percent of its storage capacity with excellent fishing for multiple species. Our contacts reported non-stop crappie action this past week with live minnows. Anglers are finding these slabs in 5 to 10-feet of water tossing minijigs in white and chartreuse, black shad and electric shad. Keitechs, Gent Bent Baits and Berkley jigs also scored well. The bass action took off this week. Anglers have been getting quality bites flipping trees, drop shots, and jigs on drop off points. Bass have also been chasing swimbaits in less than 5-feet of water. The annual Isabella Fishing Derby was a success. Anglers lined the shores and scored numerous trout up to 5-pounds. They were biting a little bit of everything, but the best action fell to minijigs, garlic scented Powerbait, GULP! Pinched Crawlers, spoons and mousetails. Boat anglers faired well with Flicker shad, Tasmanian Devils and Needlefish.
