Lake Mohave Fishing Update

We’ve got some great news—Lake Mohave is producing stripers! Anglers are having the best luck trolling with a variety of swim baits and jigs. White seems to be the go-to color right now, especially for bucktail jigs and swim baits.

Our local anglers, including the ever-colorful "Corn Man" Mark Osgood and his mate Shiela Schuyler, recently went trolling on Lake Mohave. They brought along Karime Beltran and her son Carlos Banuelos for a successful fishing trip. The group landed several impressive stripers:

• 8.22 pounds, 29 inches

• 8.16 pounds, 29.75 inches

• 6.54 pounds, 28 inches

• 6.98 pounds, 28.25 inches

Mark spends a lot of time fishing the lake, so if you see him out there, don’t hesitate to ask what’s biting and where—they’re always happy to help.

Colorado River Report

Below Davis Dam, the Colorado River is also seeing solid striper action. Popular spots like Casino Row and Community Park are producing nice fish ranging from 1 to 6 pounds. The River Bend area has been a great place to take kids, with plenty of smaller stripers biting this time of year. Near Rotary Park and just below, a few larger fish have also been landed.

Anchovies are working well as bait, along with various lures and swim baits.

Fishing Clinic Update: Fish with a First Responder

We’ll be releasing a flyer soon for the upcoming "Fish with a First Responder" clinic. We’re excited about the great group of booths that will be set up near the launch ramp at Rotary Park. All permits and permissions are in place, and we’re finalizing booth locations now.

This event is brought to the community by our local Moose Lodge #1860, with help from Public Information Officer Lorrie Duggins and myself.
