The lake remained close to 94 percent of capacity, with water temperatures lingering in the upper 70s. Bass anglers continued to enjoy solid action on one to two pound largemouth and smallmouth. Topwater riser baits, Espetits, and Sammys delivered good results. Zara Puppies in bone and shad patterned poppers also attracted plenty of bites. Finesse baits fished in the 10 to 20 foot zone along primary and secondary points produced steady action, with Carolina rigs, drop shot, and Senkos all working well. Crankbaits and Keitechs fooled fish when retrieved slowly along the bottom. Striped bass chased bait balls to the surface occasionally and responded to the same surface baits as the bass. Catfish anglers reported landing fish up to four pounds using dip baits and chicken liver.
