Fall Chinook is finally back open on the coast! It is still early in the season, but there are likely a few fish around the bay at this time. We haven't had any reports of fish in the Alsea yet but it is still early in the season.

Alsea bay does provide excellent clamming opportunities for cockles and other species during lower tides. If you are striking out with Salmon angling, clams provide another great harvest opportunity!

Coastal Cutthroat will be distributed throughout the Alsea basin and provide an excellent and fun opportunity during the remainder of the summer months. As we move into August cutthroat will continue moving throughout the basin more and more. With the lower waters, hitting the river in the early mornings before temperatures rise can be a good bet for landing cutthroat in the basin! Anglers are reminded to check the regulations for use of bait and whether there are closed streams.
