There has been almost no change in fishing conditions at Lake Nacimiento, and that’s a good thing. Anglers reported another decent week of topwater fishing while using Whopper Ploppers, walking baits, and poppers. Underspins, small swimbaits, and shad pattern squarebill crankbaits also worked during the morning bite. Bass anglers went deeper with drop shot, darter heads, Ned rigs, and spoons mid-day. White bass have been chasing shad throughout the lake and trolling or casting spoons and in-line spinners worked for bites. The white bass went for topwater as well. Catfish anglers fooled whisker fish with cut mackerel, dip bait, and chicken liver.
