The lake held at 42% of its storage capacity, and water temperatures hovered near 80 degrees. Bass anglers reported decent fishing, with largemouth and spotted bass taking finesse and reaction baits. Some topwater action occurred, though the bite was hit or miss. Squarebill crankbaits produced bass in the mornings when cast close to shore, while underspins and small swimbaits also worked for bites. Drop shot rigs, Ned rigs, and shaky heads proved reliable in 15 feet of water on points, with baby bass black flake and ox blood drawing strikes. White bass fell for spoons and in-line spinners near bait balls. Crappie were found in 10 to 20 feet of water over rocky structure and submerged wood, eating small live minnows and minijigs tipped with crappie nibbles. Catfish remained consistent on cut baits and dip bait.
