Fishing was great for another week

The lake fell two feet to 81% of its storage capacity, and fishing was great for another week. The pattern remained basically the same over the last several months, with Espetits, Lucky Craft Gunfish, and Riser baits in baitfish patterns getting bit. Drop shot, Carolina rigs, and Ned rigs produced after nine or ten in the morning, with fish holding in 15 feet of water on points and bluff walls. Striped bass brought out plenty of boil-chasing boats, and anglers had to be ready with a topwater lure without dawdling, as the fish sank out almost as quickly as they surfaced. Catfish remained reliable in deeper coves on cut baits and dip bait.
