Frances Short Pond suffered a fish kill due to low dissolved oxygen caused by monsoonal runoff through the Pipeline fire scar on 7/19/22 that flushed ash, sediment, and debris into the pond. The City of Flagstaff plans to dredge Frances Short Pond out to remove debris and sediment after spring runoff has occurred. It is difficult to say when conditions will be appropriate to stock Frances Short again. The department is working with the City of Flagstaff and will assess the potential for stocking in the spring. The limit is 2 bass minimum size 13 inches, the
limit is 4 channel catfish, the limit is 5 sunfish, the limit is 4 trout.
