Water levels remained at 52 percent of the lake’s storage capacity and winter bass fishing has been great. Finesse baits like drop shot, Ned rigs, and Neko rigs took spotted and largemouth bass in 10 to 30 feet of water. Green pumpkin, Aaron’s Magic, and Tequilla Sunrise were all good color choices. Small jigs boated more fish than anglers could count. Bass were also reported on crankbaits, blade baits, and tail spinners. White bass fishing was decent in deeper water on Kastmasters and Hopkins spoons. White and silver colors both took fish. Catfishing reports were few and far between, but cut baits, dip bait, and chicken liver are always reliable bait choices. Crappie went after minijigs in 15 to 30 feet of water near the headwaters.
