The BKO Fishing Derby was held last Saturday here at River Walk. Anglers lined the shores of both lakes catching numerous rainbow and lightening trout to 5 pounds. Anglers were able to catch twenty-four of the twenty-five tagged trout. Many anglers caught limits of trout with trophy fish in the mix. Anglers have been getting quality bites with Garlic scented Powerbait, Trout jigs, mousetails and pinched crawlers. The CDFW stocked trout yesterday and have another scheduled plant for next week, February 16th. The bass bite has been fair to good with the best action coming later. One of the anglers in the BKO fishing derby caught and released a 5 pound largemouth on a white trout jig. Bass have been coming on crankbaits, jerkbaits, jigs and shad imitation plastics on drop shot. Bluegill have been showing at both lakes with wax and red worms.
