Castaic Lake held near 76 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing pressure has been light since the wildfire. Recent storms turned the water a muddy brown with plenty of debris. Prior to recent weather anglers were boating smaller bass with drop shot, Ned rigs, and darter head grubs. Neptune shad and ox blood were the best color choices. Striped bass anglers pulled in a few fish with cut sardines. Other species were slow.
