Kaweah Lake fell to 20 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing remained fair

Kaweah Lake fell to 20 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing remained fair. Largemouth and spotted bass held in 10 to 30 feet of water with drop shot rigs and Senkos getting grabs. Bullhead jigs with a smaller profile took fish along ledges and submerged humps. Vertical spoons like blade baits and Kastmasters fooled bass in deeper water. Catfish anglers used Carolina rigged cut baits, and dip bait to land a few whisker fish. Trout were reported by anglers hooking rainbows while using rainbow Powerbait, and Pinched Crawlers. The last trout plant went into the lake the week of January 19th.

Castaic Lake: Castaic Lake held near 76 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing pressure has been light since the wildfire

Lake Isabella: The bass action is hit or miss here
Kern River: Multiple plants are keeping it readily stocked up here in the Upper Kern
Lake Kaweah: Kaweah Lake rose to 21 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing has been fair
Lake Success: Success Lake rose to 21 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing has been fair
River Walk Lakes: The bite has been excellent
Ming Lake: The CDFW stocked trout here at Ming this week
Buena Vista Lakes: Fishing has been decent at Buena Vista with trout from the last plant
Hart Park Lake: Anglers reported fair fishing at Hart Park with catfish and bluegill as the best bets
Lake Nacimiento: Winter bass fishing has been great
