The lake dropped to 64% of its storage capacity, and water temperatures were ideal for excellent bass fishing. Anglers reported strong numbers of spotted bass caught on a variety of finesse baits, underspins, small crankbaits, jerkbaits, and topwater lures. The topwater bite has been heating up, with anglers reporting impressive catch numbers throughout the day. Bottom-contact techniques also produced consistent results, with largemouth and spotted bass fooled by a wide range of colors. White bass anglers did well with silver and white spoons, while topwater baits also landed plenty of the hybrid fish. Crappie were readily caught on mini jigs and Keitech Easy Shiners. Catfish anglers reported improved success using cut mackerel and chicken liver.
