Fishing has been fair to good with a good number of hatchery chinooks being harvested. The river is running below normal water levels; boat operators should be aware. With low forecasted returns, the main Umpqua will be closed to all harvest of wild spring Chinook. Only fin-clipped Chinook may be harvested. Anglers are catching good numbers of shad throughout the main Umpqua.

We have received a few good report of striper bass being caught in the lower sections.

Only hatchery steelhead may be harvested.
