The lake held near 90 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures were in the upper 70s. Pyramid was recently bluestone, which improved water clarity, but put a temporary damper on the bite. Drop shot, Texas rigs, and Senkos were the best baits for bass, with tequila sunrise, green pumpkin, and Aaron’s Magic all taking fish. A few topwater bass were also reported. Striped bass were available mid-lake for anglers throwing bubble rigs, flukes, and spoons. Catfish anglers soaked cut sardines, dip bait, and chicken liver for good results.
