The lake dropped to 79% capacity, with water temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. After a strong summer and fall run, anglers reported tougher conditions as all bass species moved deeper almost overnight. Surface action was sporadic but limited. Bass anglers shifted to fall and winter tactics such as spoons, drop shot rigs, and Carolina-rigged worms in purple, dark green, brown, and baitfish colors. Striped bass also moved deeper, signaling it’s likely time for cut sardines and trolling setups. On the bright side, 5,000 pounds of trout were planted last week, and anglers landed plenty of healthy rainbows on spoons, in-line spinners, mini jigs, dough baits, and Hookup Baits.
