Pyramid Lake had its first trout plant of the year last week, and anglers who got in on the action scored limits of one- to three-pound rainbow trout. Fish were caught on Powerbait, mousetails, minijigs, spinners, and spoons. Bass anglers found active fish along bluff walls, points, and underwater shelves, taking drop-shot rigs, Texas rigs, and spoons at depths down to 40 feet. Striped bass boiled sporadically throughout the lake, with fish ranging from one to ten pounds caught on various topwater lures, Flukes, and spoons. Trolling umbrella rigs also produced well between boils. Catfish anglers hooked fish using dip bait, cut sardines, and chicken liver.
