Aqueduct anglers reported catching many smaller striped bass on cut sardines, anchovies, and live worms. Carolina rigs with a one ounce or heavier sliding sinker worked well after check gates when the water was flowing. During lower flows, fly-lined cut baits seemed to attract more attention. White jerkbaits, lipless crankbaits, and small swimbaits also fooled striped bass around sunrise. Largemouth bass hit jerkbaits, poppers, and Senkos. The most productive spots for largemouth were in the eddies before and after check gates, and anywhere with reduced current. Catfish anglers had great success using bait rigs with cut sardines, chicken liver, and dip bait.
