Kaweah Lake rose to 94 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures were good for spring bass action. Largemouth and spotted bass were active throughout the water column, especially during early mornings and late afternoons. Anglers found success using small jigs, shaky heads, Senkos, and Carolina rigs along rocky shorelines, bluff walls, and in the backs of coves. Bass were scattered between 5 and 25 feet deep. On windy days, jerkbaits and crankbaits also proved effective. Crappie anglers reported success using small live minnows around the Horse Creek and Slide Rock areas, with submerged structures in 10 to 15 feet of water yielding good results. Catfish bit on cut anchovies, chicken liver, and dip bait near the marina and other shoreline access points.
