The water level rose to 79 percent of capacity, and temperatures fell into the mid to low sixties. Bass fishing was hit or miss as the lake came up but drop shot and Carolina-rigged small plastics on main-lake points stayed reliable. Spoons, small swimbaits, and crankbaits also produced some solid bass. Stripers responded best to trolled umbrella rigs and flies, though some anglers reported an emerging bait bite on sardines in 40 to 60 feet. Catfish chewed garlic nightcrawlers, cut baits, and dip baits in the deeper coves, and trout anglers continued to pick off the remaining rainbows from last week’s plant.
