The Bakersfield Kids Outdoors non-profit stocked trout up to 4 pounds here this week. Anglers have been catching fish throughout the main lake using trout jigs, spinners, and Powerbait in a variety of colors. Bass have been active in the early morning and late evening, with good action on crankbaits, jerkbaits, jigs, and shad-pattern plastics fished on drop-shot rigs. The Bakersfield Firefighters’ 13th Annual Trout Derby and Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for November 22, 2025. More than a thousand pounds of Lightning and Rainbow Trout, some up to 5 pounds, will be stocked for the event. The angler who lands the lowest-numbered tagged trout will take home a $1,000 prize.
