Lake Isabella rose slightly to 32% capacity, and the bass bite continued to be strong, with several fish over 5 pounds reported in the past couple of weeks. Texas-rigged worms, crankbaits, jigs, and swimbaits are all producing quality bass, with the best action coming from Rocky Point, Piney Point, and the flume in 15–25 feet of water. The crappie bite is still fair but has slowed, and anglers are having to work harder for consistent action, though fish are still being caught around Reds and French Gulch marinas on mini jigs and small shiners. Catfish activity has tapered with the cooler temperatures, but a few are still being caught on SSS dip bait, shad, and cut mackerel. Trout fishing has picked up across the lake, with nightcrawlers and trout jigs producing well, and the CDFW stocked trout this week.
